The Full Story
A bit about me...
Good day. My name is Shawn Hayes and I am of Inupiaq/European heritage. I have always felt much closer to my Inuit roots being here in Alaska for most of my life. I have always worked with my creative side doing a wide variety of artistic endeavors starting very young in life. I even used to do beadwork while sitting in classes in high school. This trend has followed me all through my life and while I have flowed and adopted many media, I still love my cultural foundations. Many of my works will have this underlying thread in them. Currently I am mostly working in Antler, fur, and resins; however, you may find occasional glass and other art here as well. I also often explore the other side of my spiritual blends with the alternative energies of runes, herbs, and stones. I have always had a wide array of interests and these usually show up in my workings at some point in time. I hope you find something to enjoy and that speaks to you here. Taikuu (Thank you)
Mission
I would love to create more, have more time and space to allow my creativity to take center stage, and allow some people to share what I create if they like.
Vision
I like to bring the traditional and the contemporary together into usable and wearable objects. I also like exploring the materials in new ways.
